Reconciliation and Forgiveness in Christian Marriage

Don't allow the sun to continuously go down on your wrath.

You are aggravated within yourself because you're still holding un-forgiveness in your heart towards your husband. If you have chosen to stay, there can't be a continuous "back and forth" mindset of hatred and love.

Reconciliation and forgiveness are "2" different things.

• Forgiveness may be hard - but it is commanded to do without question if we want to walk according to the word of God.

• However, reconciliation towards an unhealthy marriage doesn't have to be your portion.

Here's why:

If you are being abused and in a toxic relationship filled with continuous physical abuse, adultery, vile acts that make the environment unsafe for the health of you and/or your children - never feel as though the Lord's perfect will is for you to be crushed in your spirit, soul, and body.

You can forgive and also remove yourself from a toxic environment. Not all answers are universal, but with prayer and guidance from the Lord, may you receive clarification in Jesus name!

Scriptures for thought:

• Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 》 Colossians 3:19 ESV

• The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. 》 Psalm 11:5 ESV

• Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 》 1 Peter 3:7 ESV

• But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace. 》1 Corinthians 7:15 ESV
