Lean Not to Your Own Understanding

Updated: Mar 6, 2021

Operating through your own understanding can lead to 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.

When you choose to neglect your spouse from the way 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 for the way 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 - is a sure way for resentment to creep in.

Marriage is meant to be unto death - and for this purpose, the very reason God said it shouldn't be entered into lightly.

Your daily desire should be to mend as one with your spouse - being that of a bonding mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Having the physical without the mental and emotional is not the same as having all three.

As believers, we should strive daily to live an abundant life. Jesus died for us to have this, therefore, it should be something that we pursue daily.

When you lean on the Lord, He can give you wisdom and insight on how to deal with your spouse, talk to your spouse, comfort your spouse, walk through grief with your spouse.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴. In every area of your life, you need Him if you want to flourish and prosper.

He Is, therefore, if you want your marriage to remain, daily allow Him access to guide your 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨, and 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. || 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙨 3:5-6
